As a part of his role as chief operating officer, he led the real estate team and in one role lead a nationwide expansion that had over 750,000 sq/ft of industrial land under lease.

David Thompson has served as general counsel and chief operating officer for a number of companies over the past 10 years. As a part of his role as chief operating officer, he led the real estate team and in one role lead a nationwide expansion that had over 750,000 sq/ft of industrial land under lease. For the past twenty years, David has owned and operated a small multifamily residential real estate business focused in Southwest Portland.
David’s unique background in industrial and residential real estate positions him perfectly to lead Apex Real Estate Investments LLC.
David received Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oregon.

Shawn Menashe, one of the Founding Partners of APEX Real Estate Investment, LLC, is a fourth-generation Oregonian (Portlander). Born and raised in Portland, he attended Lincoln High School and later graduated from U of O with undergraduate BA his JD. His family’s involvement in the community and real estate go back to the turn of the century.
Although his primary profession out of Law School was in the legal field, he has always been an involved in real estate. For over 10 years, he ran his family’s real estate investment company while at the same time managing their legal practice. Over time he has developed a history of syndicating single asset real estate opportunities. Many of the deals over the last 10 years were organically partnered with Nathan Sasaki. He maintained an active role in the management of each deal while also managing the legal aspect of the transaction and ownership of the property. The two have quietly built a very solid track record over the last decade.

Thomas is a specialized real estate advisor with institutional-level experience in commercial real estate finance, acquisition, and leasing.
He began his career with Crown Acquisitions, a privately-held owner-operator and brokerage firm based in New York, NY, as an Associate underwriting core and value-add retail and mixed-use acquisitions throughout the New York City metro area. While Thomas was with Crown Acquisitions, the company acquired notable properties including 650 Madison Avenue from The Carlyle Group under a partnership with JP Morgan Asset Management and Vornado Realty Trust for $1.3 billion and a 50% stake in Olympic Tower for $419 million. In addition to underwriting for prospective acquisitions, Thomas also conducted both in-house landlord as well as third party tenant representation for national luxury retailers under the guidance of Crown’s highly experienced brokerage team. More recently, Thomas held an analyst position at Cantor Commercial Real Estate (CCRE) in Los Angeles, where he was directly involved in the origination of over $250 million in CMBS fixed and floating-rate commercial property loans across all asset classes for institutional and mid-level sponsors. Of note, CCRE is a subsidiary company of Cantor Fitzgerald, LP and BGC Partners and originated over $10 billion of commercial debt in 2014.
Thomas received his BS in Business Administration at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University in Massachusetts, and holds the following professional affiliations: Commercial Association of Brokers (CAB), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors (PMAR), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and Urban Land Institute (ULI)
